Bibliocracy Radio returns to the air at a new time — noon — on a new day. My Tuesday, September 13 show features a conversation with Pablo Conrad, editor of a new, comprehensive collection of the poems of the late Adrienne Rich. In between helpful commentary and conversation with Conrad, we’ll listen to gorgeous archival recordings of A.R. reading some exemplary poems. Out from Norton, Adrienne Rich: Collected Poems 1950-2012 is the book fans, academics, other poets and political comrades have been waiting for, a thousand-page collection including all her published work and more, and spanning Rich’s impressive career, a fitting tribute to a lifetime of literary and political engagement. With a foreword by Claudia Rankine and introduction from Conrad, notes and more, Collected Poems offers an occasion to celebrate and enjoy the work of a poet, essayist and activist whose influence only seems more profound today. Thanks to engineer Stan Misraje for careful editing, and to Pablo Conrad for talking with me.
